Day after day, the streets become more and more dangerous. Who is good, and who is evil? You can't trust almost anyone! You already know, sometimes people are not what they seem to be...
...and in the software world, unfortunately, this principle works too. There are lots of programs pretending to be an antivirus, a malware remover or a disk cleaner. But be aware: some of them are just scam. Not only don't they help remove such software, but they provide false results or even represent malware themselves.
Luckily, there is a program that can help us identify and remove such malware: RogueRemover.
RogueRemover is a very simple program that uses a small database (currently with 469 items) to identify and remove common rogue software.
At first start, the program asks to check for program and database updates. When you complete this step, you can do three things: scan your computer (just click and wait), browse the database (read the program names, their risk level and a short explanation of why it's on the list) and enter the exclude list.
If you are not sure, you can browse the threat center at the author's site. It publishes the same information as the program database, so you can see what are the program detects before installing it. |
